Yggdrasil Appoints New CEO as It Aims for Global Development

Yggdrasil, a leading content aggregation platform and supplier of premier online casino games, has announced a change in management. This was after the company named James Curwen as its Chief Executive Officer, starting October 1, 2023. 

Curwen will take over from Björn Krantz, who left his position at the company as the CEO. Curwen is the Chief Online Officer of OPAP, a Greek Operator, and will take up this executive position with many responsibilities. 

Yggdrasil Gaming said Krantz will continue to lead the company to ensure a smooth transition before he departs in September.

Curwen commented on the appointment, saying he has always focused on transforming the company. Krantz added that it's time to hand over the reins as the software developer enters a new phase in the global map.

"James Curwen is an industry veteran; he will bring invaluable experience and leadership to the company as it enters the next phase of driving sustainable, profitable growth. It's his time to lead," Bjorn Krantz continued.

Itai Frieberger, Yggdrasil's Chairman of the Board, stated the Board is thrilled that James Curwen has agreed to join Yggdrasil as its new CEO. 

He added: 

"We believe he possesses the skills and experience to elevate the business to new heights. On behalf of the Board, I want to express our gratitude to Bjorn for his hard work and dedication over the last four years at Yggdrasil."

In June 2023, the company named Mark McGinley its new Chief Gaming Officer. The company has also been expanding its market reach with new content distribution agreements, with the latest signed in the Dutch iGaming market with a leading online casino.
